#AndNEW: Shane Strickland Rips Mask and PCW ULTRA Title from Penta El 0M

PCW ULTRA Light Heavyweight Champion Shane Strickland became the first double champion in their history last night when he pinned Penta EL Zero M to win the Heavyweight Crown. Wilmington, CA hosted a true classic last night in the PCW Ultratorium. Both athletes tried multiple times to finish the other one, and were unable to breakthrough with the appropriate move and end the fight. Unable to finish the contest with power moves each man tried to break the others left arm. Both champions were hampered for the remainder of the bout, and struggled multiple times to gain proper positions to execute moves.

Neither guy was discouraged from going to the top rope despite the handicap as Strickland connected on a third Swerve Stomp, but Penta kicked out again. They went back to basics and tried to roll each other up. The man from Tacoma attempted a Super kick, but it had no steam or elevation and was blocked by Penta. El Zero said something and held up his hand for “Cero Miedo” when Swerve ripped off the champion’s mask, rolled him up for the pin, and the championship.

It was a shocking turn of events, and the crowd voiced their displeasure at Strickland for his tactics. Penta had some choice Spanish words for the NEW Double Champion, but he left the ring with Penta’s mask between his teeth. We can certainly anticipate a rematch on the anniversary show January 18th between these two, and fans also found out that Tessa Blanchard is defending her ULTRA Women’s title against Taya Valkyrie.
