Primate was forced to retire in March after suffering a jaw injury. A Defiant original, Primate is a former Tag Team Champion with Jimmy Havoc, and two-time and inaugural Hardcore Champion, while also being the first man to hold two titles at once. His last match in a Defiant ring was where Jimmy Havoc turned his back on him, leading to them losing their Tag Titles to Aussie Open.

Known for his hardcore style, Primate competed in several hardcore matches against the likes of Rampage, Drake and Bad Bones in early 2017. This resulted in then-General Manager Adam Blampied creating the Hardcore Championship, with Primate becoming the first champion after defeating Jimmy Havoc at Built to Destroy 2017.

It’ll be interesting to see what Jay brings to the table under his new role. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
