Younghoe Koo's Kick

Where Does Younghoe Koo’s Missed Kick Rank In NFL Infamy?

2. Gary Anderson

Gary Anderson is one of the best kickers in NFL history, and it’s a cruel twist of fate that a player this good earns a spot on a list like this. The 1998 season was a magical one for the Minnesota Vikings, as the team went 15-1 and looked like the best team in football. Making it all the way to the NFC Championship Game, Anderson had the opportunity to effectively ice the game by kicking a 38-yard field goal to make it a two-score game with just over two minutes left.

Instead, Anderson missed the kick, which allowed the Falcons to eventually win the game. This miss is bad enough on its own, but it’s even worse when you look at his overall body of work. Anderson was automatic throughout the 1998 season, connecting on all 35 of his regular season attempts. Unfortunately for everyone in Minnesota, his lone miss cost the team a trip to the Super Bowl.
