Club Profile-AS Monaco

Monaco have won eight of their last nine matches in all competitions, and are currently sitting in second place in Ligue 1 They suffered their first defeat of the season last Wednesday when they fell to OGC Nice 4-0. However, they rebounded in their weekend fixture for a 2-1 win over Angers.

On Tuesday night, the French side will be without Colombian striker Radamel Falcao. Falcao suffered a concussion in last week’s loss to Nice. Brazilian right-back Fabinho is the clubs leading scorer at the moment and has already scored two goals in the Champions League. He will be a player to keep an eye on.

Monaco have defeated Leverkusen in all four of there previous meetings.  In addition, they defeated the German side twice in the 2014/15 competition.

Club Profile-Bayer Leverkusen

The German club have had a tougher start to the season than their opponents, and have struggled at times defensively. Their win over the weekend should give them some much needed confidence, in what was a brilliant comeback that saw Chicharito net a hat-trick.

Their form as a whole, has been rather inconsistent, which has made them an unpredictable side at times. Defensively, they have struggled early on this year, including blowing a two-goal lead against CSKA Moscow.

If Chicharito can continue to find his finishing touch, then Leverkusen should be in business in this match. Two of the goals he scored over the week were the result of some pinpoint passes over the top from the midfield. This will be important for them as this is a crucial match for them, as every club in this group has a chance of advancing.
