UEFA Champions League Final Prediction: PSG vs Arsenal

The pinnacle of European club football has arrived, with Premier League winners Arsenal looking to dethrone defending Champions League winners PSG in the 2026 UEFA Champions League final. Which European giant will survive this test and finish the year as Champions of Europe?

PSG vs Arsenal (Saturday in Budapest)

The dominant team in French football, PSG won yet another Ligue 1 title, coming out 6 points clear of Lens in the table, after they beat Lens on the second to last matchday of the season. They have three consecutive Champions League wins against European giants. They beat Club World Champions Chelsea by a six goal margin in March, held Liverpool scoreless in a 4-0 romp in April, and then survived the offensive prowess of Bundesliga champions Bayern Munch 6-5 across two compelling matches a month ago. Confidence is high, and this is a PSG team that has thrived under the pressure of being the defending champions.

Arsenal went undefeated in May to this point, their long-suffering fans got to enjoy a Premier League title by a seven point margin over Manchester City. All while they grinded out results in the Champions League without gaining many style points. They beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-1 in March, scraped past Sporting CP 1-0 in April, and were 2-1 winners over Atletico Madrid in a hard fought semifinal matchup. While PSG can break into open space and score for fun, Arsenal defend strongly and look for set pieces and other high value opportunities to score.

PSG are the team most likely to break this game open, but if Arsenal can force an attritional final, the underdogs have every chance to win it over 90 minutes.

These are two of Europe’s best teams, but they win matches in an entirely different fashion. PSG look to have a slightly stronger roster, while also winning the tougher route to the final. The main out for the PSG XI is Achraf Hakimi, Arsenal sees the return of Dutch international Jurrien Timber.

PSG’s attacking options are the most diverse in Europe, Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are the attacking trident, but the likes of Bradley Barcola can apply spark and pressure off the bench. Arsenal needs striker Viktor Gyokeres to get into the game early and lock in, because their backline with Piero Hincapie and William Saliba will be tested by waves of PSG wing attacks.

PSG don’t let anyone keep a clean sheet, even Arsenal, so the question is can Arsenal respond if, and when, they likely concede. Extra time is possible, but PSG should prove too much for Arsenal’s backline in the end.

Prediction: PSG 3, Arsenal 1
