Team News, Form and Predicted Line-Up as Oxford United Travel to Leicester

Oxford United are still looking for their first win under Matt Bloomfield and face a difficult test away at Leicester on Saturday.

The U’s have played out two goalless draws against Bristol City and QPR under the new head coach, which are respectable points, but they need more.

As for Leicester, they also drew last time out but needed a late goal at Wrexham to earn the point. The Foxes have found consistency hard to come by all season, with defeat at Sheffield United and a win over Ipswich all coming in recent weeks.

Leicester sit 14th in the Championship with ten wins and ten defeats in 28 games, with six of those victories coming at the King Power. The U’s have picked up just nine points on the road this season.

Vice-captain Michal Helik is the latest injury doubt after he was replaced at the break against QPR. He joins fellow defenders Ben Davies and Hidde ter Avest on the sidelines. Tyler Goodrham has been ruled out for the season, while Przemyslaw Placheta, Nik Prelec and Jamie Donley all remain out with injury.

The Foxes are without some big names, including Harry Souttar, Aaron Ramsey and Victor Kristiansen. Jordan James and Oliver Skipp were also forced off in their draw at Wrexham on Tuesday night.

Losing James would be a blow as the Welshman has hit nine goals and three assists from 24 Championship appearances.

These two sides played out a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture at Grenoble Road. That was a first meeting for 31 years which also took place in Oxford and ended in the same scoreline. Oxford’s last visit to Leicester ended in a 3-2 win for the U’s.
