West Ham Agree Deal to Sign Taty Castellanos

It’s been a tough first half of the season for West Ham fans, with the East London club four points adrift of safety. Graham Potter was replaced by Nuno Espírito Santo, who recently spoke about his desire to improve the squad:

“I am pleased for the young players, because they’re helping,” he said.

“But it’s also clear that, in terms of squad, we need to rebalance our squad. We need to make the right moves in a very difficult transfer window to operate.

“But we need to, so we can improve and have more options for the second half of the season.

“I have a clear idea about everything. I have a clear idea, because this is our job. It’s up to us to pass information to the club, so the club is aware of what we need.

“It’s coming in a couple of days. The reflection is clear, so the sooner the better,” said Nuno.

On the first day of the window, Nuno has already moved to improve his team’s attacking depth, with Gil Vicente striker Pablo close to joining for £18.3 million + £2.6 million in add-ons.

As revealed by Romano, West Ham are not just stopping with Pablo; Castellanos is also on his way.

What Pablo and Castellanos Will Bring to West Ham

Pablo is calm in front of the goal and will provide a much-needed physicality to the West Ham attack, which has been missing since the departure of Michail Antonio. He works hard for his team and will bring a desire to a West Ham team that desperately needs a boost.

Castellanos will bring a versatility to the West Ham attack that’s been lacking for some time. His best asset is his off-the-ball movement, and his impressive link-up play, which could see him and Pablo compete for the starting central striking role or even play as a two.

There’s no doubt West Ham still needs more reinforcements, but this is a strong first day for West Ham. What does Nuno need next?
