The Most Memorable Premier League Matches From 2025

As the calendar year nears its close it is time to look back at some of the best football the world’s elite league gave us this year. In this, we will look at the most memorable Premier League matches of 2025 as some of the most dazzling players in the game produced magic. There were goals galore, dramatic results, and some defining fixtures across the year.

Most Memorable Premier League Matches of 2025

Liverpool vs Bournemouth – August 15

The 2025/26 campaign got off to the best possible start in this fiery match that gave us a glimpse of the months to come. An early Reds surge was rebuked by a breakout star in Antoine Semenyo before eventually two late goals would see the title holders cling on for a result.

This set the tone for what has been one of the most incredible seasons to date with the league table being tighter than ever as nobody has been able to seperate themselves from the pack. Late goals have also been a major player with first Liverpool and now Arsenal benefiting from some late winners to keep themselves on the top of the table.

Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest – May 25

In pretty standard fashion for the top division in England, the races went down to the wire as both sides entered this one with a chance to earn Champions League football. The narratives were set, would the Blues’ young squad meet expectations or would the heroic underdogs from Nottingham make it back to Europe’s elite club competition.

The result was a tricky 1-0 win for Chelsea, ultimately sending them into the Champi0ns League as Enzo Maresca got to stamp his mark on the most interesting project in Europe. The Tricky Trees earned a spot in Europe to cap off a good season.

Liverpool vs Everton – February 13

The last ever Merseyside derby at Goodison Park in the men’s game was always going to be a special occasion. The noise neighbours in blue were taking on title-chasing Reds in what proved to be one of the most incredible matches of the entire year.

Fans were glued to the Live football scores as this one progressed before James Tarkowski scored a dramatic 98th-minute equaliser to finish it up 2-2. This was one of the most exciting and memorable ways for this to go down as the Toffees waved goodbye to their historic home with one of its finest outings.

Manchester City vs Fulham – December 2

With Manchester City piecing things back together after trailing Arsenal in the league, we were treated to one of the highest-scoring matches in recent memory. Pep Guardiola’s charges were taken to a close fight by a staunch Fulham team in a 5-4 win that established the Citizens as title contenders once again.

Arsenal vs Manchester United – March

The Gunners once again faded away from the title race in poor fashion as a March tie with Manchester United ended their faint hopes of catching the eventual champions. As two of the defining building blocks of the Premier League, every meeting between the two clubs is bound to be big news, when a title is on the line and the result impacts the race, it becomes even more memorable.
