Oxford United have been dealt another injury blow to a key player ahead of a tough test against Ipswich.

However, the Tractor Boys also have some key players missing for the fixture on Friday night.

Matt Phillips – Thigh

Still sidelined is winger, Matt Phillips. Gary Rowett is still yet to comment on his absence so his return remains unknown.

Brodie Spencer – Foot

Arguably closer to a return but still not ready is defender, Brodie Spencer. The right-back picked up a foot injury in Oxford’s last win which came at Sheffield Wednesday last month.

Cameron Brannagan – Calf

Having been forced off in the draw against Middlesbrough, head coach Gary Rowett has confirmed that skipper Cameron Brannagan could miss up to five to six weeks with a calf injury.

Ciaron Brown – Groin

Key defender Ciaron Brown was forced off during Tuesday night’s draw at Norwich. The Northern Ireland international missed the start of the season so the U’s will be hoping this won’t be a long-term absentee.

Wes Burns – Knee

Former Oxford loanee Wes Burns remains sidelined with a knee injury. The Welsh winger recently returned to training having been missing since late January.

Harry Clarke – Knee

Defender Harry Clarke has struggled with a knee injury since April. His future at his hometown club is in doubt as a result.

Alex Palmer – Calf

Goalkeeper Alex Palmer suffered a calf injury in the 3-0 home defeat to Charlton last month and remains sidelined.

Sammie Szmodics – Knee

Forward Sammie Szmodics underwent knee surgery at the end of October. The 31-year-old has struggled with injuries over the last 18 months.

Conor Townsend – Knee

Defender Conor Townsend has been missing since pre-season with a knee injury. The full-back is expected to miss the majority of the campaign.
