Hugo Ekitike started on the left in Istanbul and worked alongside Isak at times, though he went off with what looked like cramp and is being assessed. Federico Chiesa missed the Galatasaray trip with a training niggle, but reports since suggest it was precautionary rather than anything long-term.
Liverpool Recent Form and Tactics
Four wins to start the season painted a picture of a side clicking early, but recent weeks have told a different story. Against Palace and Galatasaray, Liverpool’s defensive issues came to the fore again. Twice this season they’ve let two goal leads slip, and the organisation at the back hasn’t been good enough.
Slot’s attacking principles are clear, full-backs pushing high, midfielders rotating, but the balance hasn’t been right. Liverpool are dangerous going forward, but they don’t look like a side capable of shutting games down. That has to change quickly if they want to keep pace with the Premier League’s frontrunners.

Chelsea away is no easy place to fix those flaws. Enzo Maresca’s side are inconsistent, but Stamford Bridge remains a difficult ground. Liverpool will need their big players, Salah, Van Dijk and Isak, to step up, and Slot has to get the balance right between attacking ambition and defensive control.
Liverpool Injuries to Consider
Alisson Becker sustained a hamstring injury against Galatasaray and has been ruled out. Giorgi Mamardashvili is expected to start. Llioni is ruled out for the long term following his Carabao Cup injury.
