Ahead of the 2025/26 season, Liverpool have signed Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Ármin Pécsi. It appears the Reds are buying for now; they also have one eye on the future, with Liverpool closing in on signing Salford City attacking youngster Will Wright. A six-figure sum is mentioned, with Liverpool in advanced talks for the player.

In addition to their ongoing interest in Alexander Isak, David Ornstein reports that Liverpool are also interested in Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike.
It appears Newcastle want to keep Isak and sign Ekitike, but they could lose Isak to Liverpool, who have made him a priority for Arne Slot’s team. Ekitike appears to be the second choice for the Merseysiders, which puts Newcastle in a challenging position.
Will Wright to Liverpool
The move for Wright is unexpected but clearly one for the future. The 17-year-old has just 80 minutes of senior action for Salford, but is highly regarded. He recently showcased his talent by scoring twice in a friendly against FC United of Manchester, helping secure a 2-2 draw.
