Tottenham Hotspur are still on the lookout for a new manager after taking the decision to sack Ange Postecoglou after the end of the 2024/25 season. The Lilywhites now appear to be close to securing the deal to appoint Thomas Frank as their new head coach.

Telegraph journalist Matt Law has reported that Spurs are now closing in on sealing a deal to appoint the Danish manager as Postecoglou’s successor at the club. The reporter has also claimed that the North London giants have made progress in talks with Brentford to take their prized manager from them.

Law claims that Brentford are asking for a compensation fee of around £10 million to let go of Frank, who is contracted to the club until the end of June, 2027. It’s added that Tottenham’s officials are now optimistic that a deal will soon be struck which will allow the 51-year-old to take up their managerial role and bring the majority of his backroom staff with him as well. Fabrizio Romano has given a new update on this matter as he claims that “Frank and Tottenham, negotiations at the final stages.”
What Can Frank Bring to Tottenham?
Thomas Frank has been working as the Brentford manager since October, 2018, after working as an assistant manager for Dean Smith at the club for two years before that. The 51-year-old has managed 317 matches as Bees boss, in which they have won 136 games. The Danish manager helped get Brentford promoted to the Premier League in 2021 after winning the Championship playoffs.
The 51-year-old manager could bring some major changes at Tottenham if he takes up their managerial role. Frank mostly shaped up Brentford in a 4-2-3-1 formation in the 2024/25 Premier League season, and might go with that formation at Spurs. He will have them play quick, attacking football and probably test opposition goalkeepers more often, as Brentford boasted the best shots-on-target percentage (40%) in the campaign for any team. Frank was hailed as “one of the best” managers by Pep Guardiola last season, and he would also get a chance to guide Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Champions League next season as well.
