Ahead of arguably Tottenham’s biggest match since the 2019 Champions League Final against Liverpool, there is another player who could be out of the Europa League Final.
Dejan Kulusevski Could now Miss the Europa League Final
A New Problem
The Swedish international has played 56 games for club and country this year and could now be out of the final after coming off injured in Tottenham’s 2-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace, according to Samuel Luckhurst.
Dejan Kulusevski came off after just 19 minutes on Sunday, where Ange Postecoglou said that it was nothing serious: “Should be ok. Just talking to him [Kulusevski] after; the medical team is not too concerned with him. It’s more of a knock than anything else. So hoping he should be ok.”

It now seems that the player’s chances of making the final have decreased, however, he has not been ruled out yet. He has not trained for the team since coming off on Sunday, and with the final now only one week away, Postecoglou will want him to be in training as soon as possible.
The attacker has played the full 90 minutes in all three of Tottenham’s victories against Manchester United this season, scoring in their 3-0 win at Old Trafford, and 4-3 win in the EFL Cup at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. After a strong start to his term, his form has tailed off since an injury in March caused him to miss nine matches for club and country.
Kulusevski Joins the Creative Duo on the Sidelines
Even though Kulusevski may not have hit the form he was displaying before his injury, Tottenham will be desperate for him to be fit for the final due to James Maddison and Lucas Bergvall both being out.

Maddison’s form had certainly improved, and was seen as a key player for the final weeks of the season, before sustaining a knee injury during Tottenham’s 3-1 win vs Bodo/Glimt. Bergvall was ruled out with an ankle injury in the build-up to that match, and is also expected to miss the rest of the campaign. Postecoglou may be wondering what he has done to deserve this luck, for the biggest game of his 30-year managerial career, if all three of his creative midfielders are out for the final in Bilbao.
