It’s also added that there are no issues expected with terms for the player but that there is a lot of work to do to convince Nottingham Forest to let their star midfielder leave. Romano claims that there is still hope within Manchester City of getting this deal done, even though it has been rumoured that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side might be asking for £100 million for them to let Gibbs-White leave in the summer, knowing that he’s contracted with them until 2027.
Who Will Gibbs-White Replace at Manchester City?
The main reason why Manchester City are keen on a move for Gibbs-White, who reportedly earns around £80,000-a-week at Nottingham Forest, is because Kevin de Bruyne will be leaving the club after the end of the 2024/25 season. The club will not be renewing his contract, allowing him to become a free agent and Pep Guardiola’s side are in desperate need of a quality player to be able to fill the shoes of the Belgian playmaker.

He’s scored five goals and provided nine assists in 30 appearances so far, but Nottingham Forest won’t let the Cityzens sign him that easily.
