Team News, Form and Prediction as Oxford United Travel to Norwich

Oxford United will be looking to secure just a second away win of the season on Friday night when they travel to Norwich.

However, it won’t be an easy task, with Gary Rowett’s side having failed to win in their last seven games following a 3-2 defeat at home against Coventry last time out.

Team News, Form and Prediction

The U’s have one of the worst away forms in the league and have picked up just nine points on their travels. They have also lost twice from their last three games on the road.

Norwich are known for having a good home form but have lost three times at Carrow Road this season. Those defeats have come in their last 11 home fixtures.

Oxford are without left-backs Greg Leigh and Joe Bennett while striker Tom Bradshaw is also sidelined. However, skipper Elliott Moore made a welcome return against the Sky Blues.

The Canaries are without Kenny McLean, Amankwah Forson, Gabe Forsyth, Liam Gibbs and Matej Jurásek, while Callum Doyle is suspended. Emi Marcondes made a return from the bench in their 1-1 draw at Blackburn last time out.

Following his six game suspension, the league’s top scorer Borja Sainz is still yet to find the net in any of his four games since his return. However, Josh Sargent has stepped up and scored seven in his last seven league games.

The U’s won the reverse fixture on the opening day of the campaign thanks to goals from Mark Harris and Cameron Brannagan but the duo have only added five more goals between them since that encounter at Grenoble Road. Oxford did win on their last visit to Norwich, but that came back in 1998.

Predicted line-up: Jamie Cumming, Ciaron Brown, Michal Helik, Elliott Moore, Peter Kioso, Will Vaulks, Cameron Brannagan, Siriki Dembele, Ruben Rodrigues, Przemyslaw Placheta, Ole Romeny.

Prediction: Norwich City 1-1 Oxford United
