Romano has also stated that Walker is keen on hearing of the Rossoneri’s proposal for him and also realises that many Saudi Pro League clubs are interested in signing him from the last summer window. It’s stated that while AC Milan are keen on signing the England international, they do not want to spend much money on an official transfer fee for his acquisition and are hopeful that Manchester City might let him leave for free this January. It looks clear that Walker is on his way out of the Premier League as he seeks to end his career somewhere else.

Pep Guardiola revealed after the Salford City match that Walker had asked to leave the club, stating: “He went to the club. I’m pretty convinced that there is no one person in our job that doesn’t want to be where they are, [and] can perform. He’s asking to explore [his options] so it may not happen, we don’t know, you never know. Explore the situation and I respect it a lot. I am more than grateful for what he has done for many years for us”.
