Earlier, Nketiah came close to joining Forest after the club agreed a deal worth £30 million with Arsenal. Even a medical was booked, but the Reds couldn’t agree on personal terms with the player, leading to the transfer breaking down.
Palace have been monitoring Nketiah for a long time. The South London club were also interested in submitting a bid for the attacker in the January window earlier this year.
Arsenal’s decision to stick to the £30 million price tag has seemingly paid off.
Nketiah Opens Door to Palace Project
With personal terms agreed, it now appears only a matter of time before we see Nketiah in South London, where he will seemingly get regular playing time.
The 25-year-old has played second fiddle throughout his career and now intends to establish himself as a first-choice striker. Despite starting just 39.6% of his 187 senior appearances, he has scored 43 goals and provided eight assists.

Palace already do have an excellent forward in Jean-Philippe Mateta, who had a remarkable league season in 2023/24 with 16 goals and five assists. But Nketiah’s move to Selhurst Park will reduce the goal-scoring burden on the Frenchman as both players compete for a spot in the starting lineup.
Any money received from Nketiah’s sale would be accounted as pure profit since he is an Arsenal academy product. Thiswould help the Gunners to comply with Premier League Profit and sustainability rules.
