FPL Gameweek 1 Tips: Three Newcastle Players You Need

England Predicted Lineup

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) finally kicks off, with the first transfer deadline August 16 at 6:30PM BST. Getting your squad right has never been more crucial and Newcastle players are strong choices, given their kind start to the season. Here are three Newcastle players who are out FPL Gameweek 1 tips for the start of the season.

Three Newcastle Stars Worth Investing In – FPL Gameweek 1 Tips

Alexander Isak – £8.5 Million Our Gameweek One Pick

Isak may be the third most expensive forward, but he is still a bargain compared to Erling Haaland, who is nearly double the price. The 24-year-old was the fifth-highest-scoring attacker last season, despite missing eight games through injury.

It is no wonder that over half of FPL managers have picked the Swede. Newcastle open their campaign at home to newly-promoted Southampton, a side who conceded 63 goals in the Championship last term.

With nine goals and two assists in his last ten Premier League games, Isak offers consistent points returns in FPL. He carries a high price tag but is a safe bet for the Magpies’ opening matches.

Anthony Gordon – £7.5 Million

The tricky winger will benefit from playing against a leaky Southampton defence. Furthermore, the English winger is cheap for a midfielder who carries a goal threat.

Gordon starts the season well-rested as he struggled to get game time with England at Euro 2024. He too finished the campaign strongly, bagging seven goal contributions in his final eight outings.

Fellow midfielder Elliot Anderson has moved on to Nottingham Forest, meaning Newcastle are more likely to attack through Gordon. His direct nature as a winger means he will be creating regular chances for his teammates. Isak’s consistent finishing will also guarantee Gordon plenty of assist points.

Lewis Hall – £4.5 Million

Fancy a gamble? Look no further than Lewis Hall. The left back made his loan move from Chelsea permanent and had a strong pre-season. The only object in his way is the colossal Dan Burn, who will rival him for the left-back position.

However, Hall had a strong pre-season and Burn will provide cover at centre-back. Both Sven Botman and Jamal Lascelles are injured, and Fabian Schar is a doubt, so Hall is poised to start against Southampton.

Newcastle will primarily attack down the left to get the most out of Gordon, providing Hall with opportunities to get forward. Furthermore, the return of Nick Pope in goal provides defensive security, boosting the 19-year-old’s chances of FPL points for clean sheets.
