Chelsea Man Set to Make Decision on Future With Potential Transfer Looming

‘Will Leave Chelsea This Summer’: Fabrizio Romano Reveals £170K P/W Chelsea Player Will Depart Stamford Bridge

Atletico Madrid are now waiting for Conor Gallagher’s decision about a potential move to the club after the Spanish side agreed terms with Chelsea.

Gallagher to Have Final Say With Transfer in the Balance

Contract Rejections Have Led to Likely Exit

Fabrizio Romano reported on the afternoon of August 2 that the Blues this week offered Gallagher a new two-year deal with the option of a further year based on the fact that it was understood that he would only be a squad player for the Blues in 2024/25, the 24-year old is unlikely to fit into Enzo Maresca’s possession-based style of play. The offer was subsequently rejected.

Now all that remains is the green light from Gallagher for the transfer as Diego Simeone and Atletico await his decision; Romano says an answer from the player is needed by Monday or the deal could collapse.

Gallagher’s 2023/24 Campaign Promised So Much

Should the 24-year-old Cobham graduate depart Stamford Bridge this summer, it’ll be a bitter pill to swallow for Chelsea fans, many of whom feel he is a player who gives 110% every time he puts on a blue shirt.

Last season was a memorable one for Gallagher, who was one of the key men in Mauricio Pochettino’s high-energy system, playing 50 matches in all competitions and captaining the side 30 times as the Blues missed out on Champions League qualification by just five points.

His Duracell bunny-like energy was clear for all to see but looking deeper into his game, he offered so much more than just having a big engine.
