The Welshman has had quite a journey in English football, starting his career at Norwich City before moving to (then) Premier League side Coventry City breaking the club’s record transfer fee.

After a season, he moved to Newcastle where they managed back-to-back top-four finishes during a four-year spell. He was then loaned to Celtic, where he won the Scottish Cup. Bellamy also played for Premier League giants Liverpool, West Ham United, and current defending champions Manchester City. The Welshman scored a total of 135 league goals in 458 appearances.

Bellamy’s recent stint as an assistant to Vincent Kompany at Burnley showcased his coaching abilities. However, the allure of leading his national team proved irresistible.
