The six-time European champions, Bayern Munich, want the 29-year-old Spurs centre-back, who has found himself below Emerson Royal (naturally a right fullback), in the pecking order.

Dier went from being an ever-present under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte to a bit-part player under new manager Ange Postecoglou. Relegated to the bench on most occasions, he has only started one Premier League game (a 2-1 loss to Wolves) and made three appearances off the bench.

Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel has had a conversation with Dier, and the Englishman has reportedly agreed terms with the German outfit, described in the report as a “total verbal agreement.” In this same report, German reporter Florian Plettenberg claims that Tuchel has approved Dier and admires his experience and versatility. It is expected that the former Sporting Lisbon man will provide cover at centre-back and defensive midfield, an area in which he arguably played his best football under Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs.

Will This Open the Tottenham Door for Radu Dragusin?
Tottenham Hotspur have also been in the market for a new centre-back, with reports linking them with Romanian defender Radu Dragusin. Genoa and Spurs are still in talks over the fee and payment method, but the Lilywhites have identified centre-back as a priority position.
