Chelsea have struggled for goals at the start of the 2023/24 Premier League season. The Blues have been linked to a move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in the future, but signing him won’t be easy.

Can Chelsea Sign Osimhen in January Transfer Window?
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that “from what I’m told” the defending Serie A champions’ stance is that they do not want to sell Osimhen in the January transfer window and that not even a “crazy bid” can convince them to let him go.

The Italian journalist has also stated that “crazy things can happen” when it involves Chelsea. He points to the Enzo Fernandez transfer that they were able to secure towards the very end of the 2023 winter transfer window, even though Benfica did not want to sell him. Romano also reiterates that Napoli’s stance is clear – in wanting to keep the Nigerian striker until the end of the 2023/24 season.
Are Chelsea Looking to Sign Anyone Else?
Apart from Osimhen, Chelsea have also been linked to a move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney. The Englishman’s suspension – is set to end in January, after which he could play for any Premier League side. Romano confirms that the Blues are keeping an eye on Toney and that it’ll be tough to sign Osimhen in the middle of the season.

The Nigeria international could be the solution to Chelsea’s problems in attack. He is a ruthless goal-scorer who thrives in the box and rarely wastes opportunities. He has had an impressive start to the season for the Italian side, scoring six goals in eight Serie A games. Osimhen, who was hailed as “incredible” by Nigeria manager Jose Peseiro earlier this year, is yet to comment on his future.
