Toney Wants to Join the Gunners in January

In a piece of exciting news for Arsenal fans, the prolific Brentford striker could potentially move to the Emirates stadium in the upcoming winter transfer window. At that point, the Gunners’ city rivals Chelsea were also in the race but the latest developments put Mikel Arteta’s side in pole position to land the player. Reports suggest that the 27-year-old wants a move to last year’s league runner-ups in the imminent future. The Englishman is currently serving an eight-month ban from all football-related activities for breaching the FA’s Betting Rules. He would like to continue his Premier League journey in the red of Arsenal after his comeback.

In Toney, Arteta will get a proven Premier League goalscorer if the move goes through. The former Newcastle man has played in the top flight of English football 66 times and has managed to find the back of the net on 32 occasions. The centre-forward broke the 20-goal mark last season playing for Brentford in 33 appearances.
