How Leeds United Line Up

Under their German manager, the Whites tend to line up in either a 4-2-3-1 structure or a 4-2-4. At the back, Illan Meslier is protected by two centre-backs with wing-backs that like to bomb on, in addition to Ethan Ampadu playing more of a holding role and breaking up play in the middle of the park.

Alongside Ampadu is another central midfielder in more of a box-to-box creative role, typically Archie Gray. Finishing the side is a line of four, with two tricky wingers outside the centre-forwards. One of the forwards, typically Joel Piroe, drops in to provide creative support.

Leeds United Injuries

In his recent press conference, Farke had some big news around injuries at Thorp Arch. Djed Spence remains out with ligament damage, as Junior Firpo also continues his recovery. However, Patrick Bamford is back in squad training. Despite this, the German said the talismanic striker still isn’t quite ready to be part of a matchday squad.

Other injury news could bring a shock change to the Leeds lineup, as Liam Cooper is fit enough to return to the squad. The club captain is a big part of Leeds United’s in-game morale, and his return to the pitch could make a significant difference both on and off the pitch. It wouldn’t be surprisingly if the Scot were to make a return to the first team against The Tigers. After being a doubt, Ethan Ampadu is also likely to be ready.
