Gary Neville Sends Message to Man Utd Fans After Glazers Ownership Update

What Did Neville Tell the Fans?

The Manchester United fans were rocked by a recent report by the Daily Mail that claimed the Glazer Family had taken the club off the market and are not looking to sell. This comes after they put the club up for sale last year and have attracted bids from Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The Mail also indicated that none of the potential buyers were able to match their asking price and that the Glazers are not going to hold out for a mammoth £10 billion offer to contemplate selling the club. With fans infuriated by this latest report, Gary Neville has sent a message to calm their nerves.

He tweeted: “Morning and it’s Arsenal v United for me today on @SkySports. Join us if you like. P.s. I don’t believe the Glazers not selling/doing anything story. They have to do something. They’ve run out of money and the financial situation is desperate. They need investment in. They’re also having a toxic impact on the club from the inside out. The negligence continues for now but I don’t think it can go on without some action on raising funds. Also, who would come in as a minority alongside them with the damage it would do to their reputation.”

What Offers Did the Glazers Get for Man Utd Sale?

Ever since they indicated a desire to sell the club, the Glazers have attracted bids from multiple parties. Sheikh Jassim, a Qatari banker, is stated to have offered a £5 billion figure to take over 100% of the club’s shares. British businessman Sir Jim Ratcliffe has also shown a desire to take over the club he supports.

He reportedly wants to buy a majority stake in the club and is willing for the Glazers to retain some of their shares in his offer. However, the American family are yet to make a decision after they sanctioned seven new signings for the club, including a late move for Sofyan Amrabat.
