Several teams have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain’s French youth international forward Hugo Ekitike recently. This is despite PSG rejecting an initial approach, as well as the South-East London club facing competition from West Ham United and Brentford.

Crystal Palace Looking To Fight Off West Ham In Hunt For Ekitike

Palace Could Be Chosen Destination For Ekitike

The future of Ekitike has been the topic of speculation in recent days, with several Premier League clubs being linked with the promising young attacker. Crystal Palace had reportedly put in an initial loan bid, while West Ham and Brentford have also shown interest in him. However, PSG rejected Palace’s approach. It was then reported that Eintracht Frankfurt had moved to the head of the pack and became favourites to sign the French Under-20 international.

With Les Parisiens agreeing a deal with the German side to sign Randal Kolo Muani it seemed like their young striker could move in the opposite direction. That has changed during the course of transfer deadline day though, with reports suggesting the youngster is keen on making a move to the English Premier League.

Palace And West Ham Set For A Fight

As deadline day has gone on, Crystal Palace have jumped to the front of the queue in the race to sign Ekitike. L’Equipe journalist Loic Tanzi has claimed The Eagles have reopened talks after their initial failed loan bid, and he also posted on X to hint that Selhurst Park was the players chosen destination.

Palace do have a fight on their hands though. Correspondent Graeme Bailey has said that, even though the Eagles have come in strong, both West Ham and Brentford have held talks about a possible deal. Out of the two, the Hammers seem to be the biggest threat with Sky Sports also reporting the Irons transfer talks.

Can Palace, Or West Ham, Complete A Deal Before The Deadline?

There are currently no details of any concrete offers PSG have received for Ekitike. Any team wishing to secure his signature will have to move quickly to get a deal done before the window slams shut.

It may be a nail-biting few hours for Crystal Palace and West Ham fans, as well as maybe the player himself, as we await more news on this developing transfer saga.
