As the transfer window nears its closing, Spurs continue to be busy as they seek to overhaul a squad that finished in a disappointing eighth in the Premier League last season. Conor Gallagher is the latest name they have been linked to, with Ange Postecoglou’s side tabling a £40 million bid for the midfielder.
Gallagher has started all four of Chelsea’s games across all competitions, proving to be an important member of the first-team squad through the first month of the season. The 23-year-old was also part of England’s World Cup squad last year, with Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate describing him as “excellent”.

Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino has outlined his intentions to keep the England international, but with the report suggesting that Chelsea will accept a bid of £45 million, his days at Stamford Bridge may well be numbered.
Tottenham Linked with Two Other Premier League Players
Gallagher is just one of many players who are rumoured to be joining or leaving the club on deadline day. A possible move for Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly is in the pipeline whilst a deal for Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson has been agreed in principle.

However, incomings may well depend on Tottenham’s ability to offload players. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg had been linked with a move to Fulham, but the Danish midfielder has rejected the chance to join the Cottagers, potentially scuppering the move for Conor Gallagher.
Four other Spurs players have been actively shopped to other clubs. Sergio Reguilon has joined Manchester United on loan, but with the transfer window coming to an end, it’s looking more likely that the bulk of these players will remain at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at least until January.
