The update mentions that Erik ten Hag’s side offered a loan fee in excess of £2 million – but the Blues are demanding more than that to sanction a deal. He states that talks are currently ongoing between the English sides to reach a possible agreement and get a deal over the line before the transfer window closes.
The journalist also reveals that the “Deal Is On” and that Cucurella is also open to a possible move to Old Trafford before deadline day. For now, the Red Devils are aiming to sign a new left-back who can fill the void left by Shaw.
What Will Cucurella Bring to Old Trafford?
The 25-year-old definitely comes with a decent amount of experience, having made 59 appearances in the Premier League for both Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea in his career and having four goal contributions (one goal, three assists) over that period.

Cucurella, signed by the London giants for a rumoured fee of £62 million last year, made 33 appearances in his debut campaign for them. He can play as a left-back and as a wing-back, as well as a winger and centre-back on rare occasions if needed. The Spaniard, a product of Barcelona’s acclaimed youth academy, was hailed as “fantastic” by UEFA’s Technical Observer Panel after his Man of the Match performance for Chelsea in their 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League Round of 16 clash last season. The Red Devils appear to be quite impressed by his profile, but it remains to be seen, if they can get a deal done before the window closes.
