Florian Plettenberg has dropped a major update on West Ham United’s search for a striker in the final days of the transfer window. The journalist has revealed the names of three major candidates considered by the club.

Hammers’ Three Prime Striker Candidates Revealed
The London-based club are in the market looking for a “hard-working” striker with a “top character” as reported by Plettenberg. They have shortlisted three Brazilian strikers as prime candidates.
Yuri Alberto of Corinthians, Marcos Leonardo of Santos, and Falmengo’s Pedro are the three options the Hammers are seriously considering at the moment. The first two of the above-mentioned players, Alberto and Leonardo, are on the right side of the age spectrum at 22 and 20 years old respectively, with Pedro being the oldest at 26.

The Premier League club’s Technical Director, Tim Steidten is already in Brazil to accelerate the process and potentially strike a deal for one of the shortlisted No.9s before the transfer window shuts.

West Ham’s Transfer Window So Far
The Londoners lost their star midfielder, Declan Rice, at the beginning of the transfer window to fellow Premier League club, Arsenal. They have been very active in the transfer market since and have reinforced their midfield by bringing in James Ward-Prowse from Southampton and Edson Alvarez from Ajax.

Konstantinos Mavropanos from Stuttgart and Mohamed Kudus from Ajax are the latest to arrive at the London Stadium. The UEFA Conference League champions are also considering a move for their former player Jesse Lingard, who is currently a free agent.
The Irons’ next priority is to bring in a number nine who is an upgrade on current strikers, Michail Antonio and Danny Ings. Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri is also on the club’s radar.
