Crystal Palace Secure Deal for Matheus Franca

New Midfielder Set to Sign in Big Deal for Eagles

The London club is poised to pay an initial fixed fee of £17 million to Flamengo, with an additional £8.5 million in potential add-ons, making the total package worth a significant £25.7 million. This impressive investment perhaps reflects Crystal Palace’s ambition to bolster their squad after a mixed season last time out.

The 19-year-old Brazilian midfielder has shown immense promise during his time with Flamengo, catching the attention of clubs from across the Premier League including Newcastle and Chelsea

The medical tests for Franca’s arrival are already scheduled for “next week”, indicating the eagerness to finalise this deal promptly.

Palace Secure Brazilian but Face Unexpected Clause

Ryan Taylor‘s report for the Daily Express backs up Romano’s claim but adds that the deal incorporates a 20 per cent sell-on clause, benefitting Flamengo in the event of any future transfer involving the young midfielder.

For Crystal Palace, securing his signature represents a significant coup considering other heavy interest. It also now perhaps showcases their ambition to strengthen the squad back under the stewardship of manager Roy Hodgson.

Matheus Franca Comes at Important Time for South London Side

Franca’s arrival in the Premier League adds to the growing trend of top-flight clubs looking to tap into the talent pool in South America. With his flair, creativity, and adaptability, the Brazilian gem has the potential to become a key figure in Palace’s midfield setup, providing a much-needed spark and attacking impetus.

This comes at a potent time for the Eagles as they look to bolster options going forward after a tricky summer already. The London club faced the departure of their now former-talisman, Wilfried Zaha, this summer, as he opted to decline a new contract offer and move to Galatasaray on a free transfer.
