Brighton Close to Igor Julio Signing

Brazilian Defender to Join Seagulls
Having reached a personal agreement with the player earlier this week, the Brazilian described as “impressive” was already on board with a move to the Premier League side. The deal, which was subject to both clubs’ final approval, would see the young talent commit to Brighton until June 2027. The deal is set to be completed for a fee of £14.75 million, plus undisclosed add-ons.
Igor’s performances in Serie A for Fiorentina did not go unnoticed, including many top performances in the league alongside an impressive Europa Conference League run, only losing out to West Ham in the final. Brighton have seemingly won the race to sign the 25-year-old defender.

Having started his career in Brazil, he quickly made a name for himself with his solid defensive and ball-playing attributes.
As the deal enters its final stages, Igor is expected to ‘travel soon’ to England to complete the necessary formalities, including a medical examination and contract signing. The player is reportedly excited about the prospect of playing in one of the world’s most competitive leagues, having spoken to Roberto De Zerbi.
Igor Julio Arrival Won’t Affect Brighton Pursuit of Levi Colwill
Despite the imminent arrival of Igor Julio, Brighton remain undeterred in their pursuit of English defender Levi Colwill. The 20-year-old Colwill had a successful loan spell at Brighton last season, catching the eye with his impressive performances at the heart of the defence. According to Charlie Parker Turner, the Seagulls will continue to push for the young defender.

The consensus is said to be that while Igor provides a quality safety net for the defensive position, Colwill remains Brighton’s top target, as confirmed by Andy Naylor. After working closely with him last season, De Zerbi is keen to work with him again, but it seems it would seemingly take a huge effort now to swing Chelsea into any kind of negotiations.
