Christopher Nkunku Will Kick Off an Important Summer Transfer Window in West London
The upcoming transfer window is absolutely vital for Chelsea after the disastrous 2022/23 season they have had.
Following Todd Boehly’s takeover in late May of 2022, the Blues went on a transfer rampage in the summer, buying the likes of Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella from fellow Premier League sides Leicester City and Brighton & Hove Albion respectively.

Despite their extravegant expenditure, the Blues were unable to achieve what Boehly was aiming for, and manager Thomas Tuchel was sacked in early September, soon to be replaced by Graham Potter. The English boss was then heavily backed in the January Transfer Window and this brought Chelsea’s transfer spending under Boehly’s regime to nearly £600 million.
Even with such acquisitions as World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez for £105 million and Mykhailo Mudryk for £88.5 million, Chelsea continued to tumble down the Premier League table, and could end up as low as 14th after the final day if results don’t go their way.
Now, though, they will be hoping to start anew, with experienced manager Mauricio Pochettino taking charge. The former Tottenham Hotspur boss will be aiming to bring Chelsea back into top-four contention with a successful summer transfer window, and this looks set to get kicked off by confirming the deal for Nkunku.
