Chelsea’s on-loan forward Romelu Lukaku has indicated that he might want to stay at Inter Milan next season after enjoying a pretty successful loan stint with them. The Belgian forward is currently set to return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

What Did Lukaku Say About Inter Milan Stint?
The 30-year-old has had a rollercoaster of a spell at Inter whom he initially joined from Manchester United in 2019. After helping the Nerazzurri win the Serie A title in the 2020-21 season, Lukaku was signed by Chelsea for a whopping amount in the summer of 2021.

Speaking to Belgian outlet HLN about his future, Lukaku said: “I was good at Chelsea last season. But I knew then that if it didn’t work out at Chelsea, I still had Inter. When I signed again, I knew: I belong here. I had that too at Anderlecht. I take this club seriously. I want to do my best. The people here see that. Being encouraged here is the best thing there is.”
It appears from Lukaku’s comments that he might want to return to the Italian club once his loan spell expires and is encouraging them as well as Chelsea to finalize a deal to ensure that he could play in the Serie A next season again.
Lukaku Enjoying Prolific Season With Inter
After joining Inter Milan on loan at the start of the season, the Belgian forward has experienced a real roller-coaster of a campaign. He hasn’t exactly been a regular starter for the Nerazzurri either and has often been used as an impact substitute from the bench.

Lukaku had an underwhelming World Cup campaign with Belgium, producing a shocking performance in the final group game against Croatia – which included a plethora of awful misses.
He’s had a better time of it with Inter though, scoring 13 goals and providing six assists in 33 appearances across all competitions despite getting less game time than he might be used to. The 30-year-old, who was once hailed as ‘world class’ by Thomas Tuchel, will need to wait to see what decision Chelsea and their incoming new manager make- on his future at the club.
