Absences
Compared to recent weeks the injured list was a lot shorter than usual as only Armando Broja, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Thiago Silva were 100% doubts to play any part in this one. That did leave the interim coach with some selection headaches as some big names were sure to be left out.

Despite initially being a contender to play, and being named on the bench in midweek, Mason Mount is not fit and is out of the squad entirely for this one. The Englishman initially shot to prominence in Lampard’s first run as manager and many were hoping he would refind form with this appointment.
Chelsea Confirmed Lineup
- Kepa Arrizabalaga
- Reece James
- Wesley Fofana
- Kalidou Koulibaly
- Marc Cucurella
- Enzo Fernandez
- Mateo Kovacic
- Conor Gallagher
- Raheem Sterling
- Joao Felix
- Kai Havertz
Possible Formation
The setup appears to be favouring a 4-3-3. James, Fofana, Koulibaly, and Cucurella as the back four with a three-man midfield in front and Havertz leading the line with Sterling and Felix playing off him in something resembling a 4-3-2-1. It is also possible that the last two stay wide for the duration.

Another possibility is a lopsided attempt at a 3-4-3 like we saw recently with James asked to slot in as the third centre back while someone like Gallagher plays as a right wing-back. It likely won’t be clear until the team steps on the field what setup they go with but it could be either of the two outlined.
