United Have ‘Very Positive’ Initial Talks With Frimpong
The Manchester giants appear to be starting to make moves over potential transfers ahead of the summer transfer window. Plettenberg claims that the Red Devils’ first round of talks with Frimpong’s agents was initiated very recently.

The first meeting is claimed to have been ‘very positive’. Plettenberg also adds that Erik ten Hag is an admirer of the 22-year-old right-back, who is open to leaving Leverkusen after having his breakthrough season in the Bundesliga this season.
United signed two defenders last summer for the Dutch manager, in the form of the influential Lisandro Martinez from Ajax and left-back Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord. However, he wasn’t afforded a new right-back and it appears that position will be strengthened in the summer.
Frimpong Could Be Breath of Fresh Air
United are reported to be ready to listen to offers for right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the summer and are open to selling him despite his resurgence under Ten Hag in the second half of the season. Diogo Dalot is reportedly in talks over a new contract with the Red Devils, which means Frimpong is likely being eyed as potential competition to the Portuguese right-back.
The defender, who spent the majority of his youth career with Manchester City, started to soar after leaving the Citizens. He’s been amazing for Leverkusen this season, having scored eight goals and providing nine assists in 36 appearances this season.

The Dutchman has been able to impress Ten Hag with his glowing performances and can be an exciting addition to the United squad, being a breath of fresh air with his attacking abilities. Frimpong, who was hailed as a ‘special player’ by Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso earlier this season, has made 83 careers for the Bundesliga side in his career – scoring 10 goals and providing 18 assists.
