Hugo Lloris’ Recent Form
It is no secret that the Frenchman has struggled for form this season. He has made several high-profile errors that have led to goals, as well as many more that haven’t. Most recently against bitter rivals Arsenal, when Bukayo Saka’s shot deflected in off the 36-year-old from an incredibly tight angle.

Despite deploying a relatively defensive style of football, Tottenham have still conceded a whopping 31 goals in 22 Premier League games this season. However, it is worth noting that many of the defenders in front of Lloris have also had poor seasons, and therefore, he is not entirely to blame for their poor defensive numbers.
A Huge Blow
Despite his relatively poor form though, this is still a huge blow for Antonio Conte’s side. Spurs have some very important matches to play in the near future, namely their upcoming fixtures against AC Milan in the knockout stages of the Champions League. The club are also eyeing a late push for a top-four finish in the Premier League as well.
In order for them to do that, they will need their senior players to help pull them through difficult moments – and the French goalkeeper is arguably their most influential leader. After all, he is the club captain and as mentioned, has previously captained his national team to a World Cup triumph in 2018.

Of course, they still have big personalities such as Harry Kane and Cristian Romero available, but losing a player of Lloris’ experience that possesses such an elite winning mentality is always a huge blow – regardless of their current form.
