Arsenal Plan Shock Move for 128K-A-Week French International

Eduardo Camavinga

According to Simon Collings of Evening Standard, Arsenal are plotting a surprise loan move for Real Madrid and French international midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. It’s not obvious if the move will be sanctioned by the Real Madrid board. The move seems more likely since reports surfaced recently that the midfielder has fallen out of favour with his manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Arteta Turns His Attention to Midfield Ace Camavinga

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly turned his attention to signing French international midfielder Camavinga. The Gunners have already signed Leandro Trossard during this transfer window. The 128k-a-week ace has found minutes hard to come by under Ancelotti in recent weeks.

The Gunners currently sit top of the league with a six-point advantage over second-place Manchester City. The report from Evening Standard states Arsenal are interested in signing Camavinga on loan to boost the squad as they continue their hunt for a first Premier League trophy since 2004.

Potential Targets for Arsenal

Aside from their reported move for Camavinga, Arsenal are close to bringing in Jakub Kiwior from Spezia. Arteta’s team are also reportedly targeting West Ham and England midfielder Declan Rice. Arsenal’s pursuit of Rice shows the belief returning to the Emirates that they are on the verge of returning to footballs top table.

The table-topping team believe they can attract the English midfielder with the offer of Champions League football for next season. With West Ham’s poor form this season, it seems unlikely they will cash in on Rice in the January window. The West Ham star would improve the depth of the Arsenal squad and add quality to an already performing midfield. He also can impress in defence in addition to his more regular position at the base of the midfield.

What Eduardo Camavinga Could Bring to Arsenal

Camavinga is always looking to get on the ball, which shows what a confident player he is. He is aware of his surroundings and is not afraid to drop deep to get on the ball and use his incisive passing to launch counterattacks.

He also has a great work rate and relishes the physical side of the game, where he seems to enjoy imposing himself on the opposition. The French international is also adept at protecting the ball effectively and drawing fouls from the opposition.

If Arsenal can sign Camavinga, he will bring a work rate and desire, alongside his obvious class, which would be a vital boost for an Arsenal team determined to win the Premier League this season.
