‘Personal Terms Agreed’: Arsenal Close in on £25 Million Premier League Winger

After missing out on the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk to rivals Chelsea, Arsenal target Leandro Trossard has taken a step closer to joining the Gunners.

There have been reports of interest in both Barcelona winger Raphinha and Bayern Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby, however, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal are close to securing the signature of Brighton and Hove Albion forward Leandro Trossard.

Mykhailo Mudryk Alternative

Arsenal were perhaps too slow in their negotiations for Mudryk, but they cannot be accused of the same regarding Trossard. In fact, Fabrizio Romano has also reported that as well as agreeing to personal terms with the player, the club have already opened talks with Brighton, and “Arsenal are prepared to close the deal in the next hours”

The Belgian may be a more practical signing for the Gunners too. His price tag is believed to be in the region of £25 million, far lower than that of Mudryk’s, and Trossard is already Premier League proven. He may not be the most glamourous of names, but he would certainly add some much-needed depth in quality to the Arsenal squad.

Leandro Trossard’s 2022/23 Campaign

Trossard’s goal returns in the Premier League support that theory. The forward has scored seven times and registered two assists in sixteen appearances for the Seagulls. That is the same return as Gabriel Martinelli and only four less than Bukayo Saka. Trossard wouldn’t just be a bench player, he would be challenging for a starting spot.

He has also shown an ability to perform against the biggest teams in the league; his hattrick against Liverpool was perhaps his most memorable moment of the season, and possibly his career to date.

All in all, Leandro Trossard would represent a good signing for Arsenal. The winger would add strength in depth to the squad, and has enough quality to compete with Mikel Arteta’s current wingers for a spot in the starting eleven.
