United Strike Verbal Agreement for Weghorst Signing

The Manchester side wants to get the signing done quickly, as they have a lot of games to play in a tough January schedule period. That is why they have already agreed on the finances to be paid to both Burnley and Besiktas; the team he is on loan at right now.

Romano states that the Turkish side are expected to receive £2.6 million for the deal and the Championship side will send him on loan to the Red Devils. The Turkish club have not yet approved the deal, as they’re on the lookout for a possible replacement for Wout Weghorst and will only let him go upon identifying the right replacement, adds Romano.

It’s also added that all relevant parties to the deal are optimistic that it will be done in a matter of time. They are just waiting to get all the details finalised before the 6’6″ forward can join the Red Devils on loan for the rest of the season.

Erik ten Hag Optimistic About Weghorst’s Ability to Thrive at United

Erik ten Hag has already voiced a desire to sign a new striker, admitting that he is left short of options in that position at Old Trafford since Ronaldo’s departure. While United are only seeking a move for Weghorst on loan for the rest of the season, the Dutch gaffer believes that he can succeed in his club.

It has already been reported that Ten Hag believes the towering striker has all the qualities needed to be ‘perfect’ for his side. Wout Weghorst put up a memorable performance for the Netherlands at the World Cup quarter-finals, scoring a brilliant brace against Argentina.

He has nine goals and provided four assists in 18 appearances for Besiktas, producing good enough numbers to convince a club like United to make a move for him.
