‘Absolute Monster’ Chelsea Target Slapped With £70 Million Asking Price

Ben Jacobs has issued an update on Moises Caicedo that is sure to leave Chelsea fans unhappy. In a video posted to @transferdotcom the CBS Sports reporter stated that “Brighton are holding out for around £70 million at a lower end” with a maximum price of roughly £80 million also mentioned. He also states that Caicedo is “on their list” in regard to the London club’s interest in signing the midfielder.

The Ecuadorian midfielder has impressed ever since making a move to the Premier League. He can cut out attacks and makes great plays to move the ball forward. This play has led to him being labelled an “absolute monster” by journalist Jonas Adnan.

With N’Golo Kante getting injury prone and older, this could be a fantastic signing for Chelsea to shore up their midfield for many years to come.

Injuries have no doubt had an impact but the team needs reinforcements who can impact the game defensively and creatively. Players like Jorginho are mainly passing-oriented, which can leave the defense prone despite having two defensive midfielders operating in front of them.

The 21-year-old on offer for a reported £70 million fee would certainly provides that. He could be paired with Denis Zakaria to make up a fearsome DM pairing. This is especially important as the Blues look set to miss out on Enzo Fernandez while there’s no clear return date for French star Kante. Chelsea will need to start pushing these deals over the line in the coming weeks to challenge for top four come May.
