Tuchel Would Prefer to Return to Management After World Cup

The former Chelsea manager is well aware of how England will not sack Gareth Southgate anytime soon, despite the Three Lions having failed to win their last six games ahead of the World Cup. In his managerial career so far, Tuchel has never taken over an international side. He has a pretty strong CV under his belt, having managed the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain before Chelsea – whom he helped win the Champions League title in the 2021/22 season. Since being surprisingly let go by Chelsea after a shaky start to the season, the German manager has had a few offers to come back. Tuchel had voiced his shock and sadness to have left Chelsea sometime after being fired, but hasn’t really been seen around the football pitch since. Having achieved a lot of success at the club level, the 49-year-old is now looking for a different challenge that can rejuvenate his love for management. However, it remains to be seen if England does sack Gareth Southgate after the World Cup and replaces him with Tuchel – who was lauded as an ‘unbelievable manager’ by Ben Chilwell earlier this year.
