Another frustrating week for Oxford United has come to a close with the U’s losing two more matches in the last seven days.
Once again, there was some positive news off the pitch with a new chief executive appointed but the on-field issues remain a problem.

Papa John’s Loss Against Chelsea U21s
Oxford United lost their second group game of the Football League Trophy with a 2-1 defeat at home to Chelsea’s U21 side.
A strong U’s side took the lead in the first half when Matty Taylor netted his 60th goal for the club, which takes him to ninth in United’s all-time list.
However, two late goals from the young Blues secured the points for the visitors at Grenoble Road.
Former Inter Milan Finance Boss Appointed as New CEO
The U’s have appointed former Inter Milan finance boss Tim Williams as the club’s new chief executive.
Williams, who held a similar role at Manchester United, had been awaiting finalisation on paperwork from the English Football League.
Speaking to the club’s official website, he said: “Now we have the final approval from the EFL the work can really start, although I have already been around the club every day for the last week or so and met with every department as well as the board.
“I have also had the opportunity to meet with fans and fan group representatives and will attend both home games this week as well as the Charlton game last weekend.
“I’ve had a fantastic welcome from everyone. I would like to thank the board for the confidence they have placed in me.
“I am very aware of the club’s history and its plans for the future, and I am committed to the staff, board and ownership to delivering the success that this club and its fans deserve both on and off the pitch.”
U’s Lose Against Wycombe
Oxford’s winless run extended to five games as the U’s lost at home against fellow strugglers Wycombe Wanderers.
Cameron Brannagan saw a 13th-minute penalty saved before James Henry was denied from the rebound.
The game was then suspended following a medical emergency in the crowd and the Chairboys opened the scoring shortly after the eventual restart.
Despite having just under 70 per cent possession and 29 shots on goal, the U’s were unable to get themselves back in the game and sit above the drop zone on goal difference.
