Messi Won’t Hold Contract Talks Before FIFA World Cup
The Ligue 1 giants have not yet made any official proposal to the Argentine forward’s representatives over what their terms will be for another contract extension. Moreover, Messi’s stance is that he doesn’t want to talk about his future at the club or any contract extensions before the end of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.
The 35-year-old is well aware of how desperate PSG are to ensure his stay at the club and help them dominate France as well as the UEFA Champions League for the next few years. Messi also knows that Barcelona are pushing to bring him back to the Camp Nou after an unfortunate and tearful departure from the club a couple of years ago.

But, the Argentina captain’s stance is solid – he does not want to talk to either club or make any decision on his future before the World Cup is officially over in December. After that only will he make a final decision on where he wants to play next season, domestically.
Messi’s Amazing Start to the Season Recapped
The 35-year-old forward has had a brilliant start to the 2022/23 season with PSG. He has already scored five goals and provided seven assists in just nine Ligue 1 appearances this season, almost matching his tally of six goals in the entirety of the last campaign.

He’s also scored twice and provided an assist in three Champions League appearances so far and looks to be in very good touch of form ahead of the World Cup, which will probably be the final one of his career. Messi is currently focused on winning the World Cup with Argentina before making any decision on his future at the club level.
