Explosive Winger Wanted in Last Minute Move By Three Premier League Clubs – Including Spurs

Explosive winger Dan James

Tottenham Hotspur have intensified negotiations with Leeds United for explosive winger Daniel James, as Bryan Gil is close to a loan move back to Valencia. In his exclusive daily briefing, Fabrizio Romano now reports that Spurs face two different Premier League rivals in the race for James.

Everton’s Interest In the Welsh Explosive Winger

Everton are said to be keeping tabs on the Welshman. Frank Lampard is actively seeking to bolster his attacking options at Goodison Park. With the signing of Burnley winger Dwight McNeil, the Toffees remain in the market for more transfers.

The club has already tested the waters for Shakhtar Donetsk top talent Mychajlo Mudryk with a £25.5 million offer, but the Ukrainian club turned them down.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Everton have asked about the availability of Daniel James on loan. Following the departure of star forward Richarlison earlier in the window, the Toffees’ boss Frank Lampard has been actively searching for a replacement and with the Mudryk bid turned down. It wouldn’t come as a surprise if they turn their gaze to the pacy Welshman as an energetic option that supports their counterattacking style.

Happy to Stay At Elland Road

Despite attracting interest from many top clubs, Daniel James would be happy to continue at Elland Road this season.

In 34 Premier League appearances last season, the player scored four goals and provided five assists. His performances were instrumental as Leeds United avoided relegation last season, but with the arrivals of Luis Sinisterra and Brenden Aaronson, the player could struggle to earn quite as many minutes.

Having clocked top speed of 35.1km/h in the Premier League last season, James ranks in the top eight percent for pressures made by wingers across Europe over the past year (via FBRef). The player would be perfect for the style of play of both Antonio Conte and Frank Lampard.
