According to a report from reliable journalist Jason Burt of The Telegraph, Manchester United are now “ready to go all-out” to sign Cody Gakpo of PSV Eindhoven. The Dutchman has been described by one fan as “the perfect striker for Erik ten Hag”, and would certainly be a fantastic addition at Old Trafford.
This comes after the Red Devils have virtually completed their pursuit of Real Madrid’s Casemiro. The defensive midfielder will be a great signing for United in an area which was in desperate need of attention, and this now allows the hierarchy at Old Trafford to go after other targets like Gakpo.

Manchester United’s Transfer Window Now Heating Up
The Red Devils had a slow start to the transfer window, but it is now heating up.
They have already officially confirmed the acquisitions of Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord, Christian Eriksen as a free agent after a brief but successful stint with Brentford, and Lisandro Martinez from Ten Hag’s former side Ajax.
Malacia was brought in to provide competition for Luke Shaw: United know how successful that has proven to be in the past.
Eriksen, in turn, was signed to compensate for the departures of Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata, both of whom play in the Dane’s preferred central attacking midfielder role.
Finally, Martinez moved to Manchester as a top quality centre-back to add to United’s ranks. He joins Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, and Axel Tuanzebe as the central defensive options at the Theatre of Dreams.

With Casemiro now the latest player to be about to join, United will be turning their attention to Gakpo. Having learned from former Red Devil and Old Trafford legend Ruud van Nistelrooy, who is his current manager at PSV, he will bring a striker’s instinct to Manchester if he makes the same move as his boss did 20 years ago.
