Nottingham Forest Agree Fee for Watford and Nigeria Forward

Over the last few days, there have been drastic developments in the career of Emmanuel Dennis. Nottingham Forest launched a bid for the Watford and Nigeria forward earlier this week. Now, Adam Leventhal of The Athletic is reporting that a bid has been accepted and a deal is being struck.

Nigeria Forward Emmanuel Dennis Is Premier League Bound

Final Stages of the Deal

“The Athletic reported on Thursday that Forest had made an opening bid for Dennis having reported last month that Forest – along with West Ham United – were interested in the Nigeria international, who scored ten goals and recorded six assists for Watford in the Premier League last term.” There was talk about it for a while but the deal has catapulted forward over the last 48 hours or so.

The Nigeria forward is thought to be one of two players leaving Rob Edwards’ ranks. Their front three of Dennis, Ismaila Sarr and Joao Pedro has been labelled as far too good for the Championship and this is soon to be proven. As well as the 24-year-old striker being en route to the City Ground, Senegalese international Sarr has teams such as Leeds United and Manchester United in pursuit of his signature.

There will be certain promises and agreements in place. “A deal is agreed in principle for the sale, with final negotiations between the clubs ongoing. It is believed personal terms have been agreed.” Dennis joins a fairly convoluted attacking line. His fellow countryman Taiwo Awoniyi joined from Union Berlin. Meanwhile, the likes of Brennan Johnson, Sam Surridge and Lyle Taylor were already under the stewardship of Steve Cooper.

Watford Turning A Profit on the Nigeria Forward

The fee for the Nigeria forward has been levelled at various points. Now it is being said that “Watford have accepted a bid in the region of £20 million.” He made the move to Vicarage Road last summer after impressing for Club Brugge in both the Jupiler Pro League and the Champions League also.

Watford spent less than £4 million on a Champions League proven striker and although he was unable to keep them in the top division, he was on fire in front of goal. Now, as a result, they will have made roughly £16 million in profit off of just one season.
