The Championship season is well underway now, with Watford’s first two games coming on Monday nights in front of the Sky Sports cameras. The Hornets are one of the favourites to gain promotion back to the Premier League. However, a spanner could be thrown into the works if one of their lethal front-three leaves between now and the end of the window. As per Fabrizio Romano, Watford forward Ismaila Sarr “could be one to watch.”

Sarr’s Future Remains to be Seen
When it comes to the Watford forward line, there is a true dichotomy present. Manager Rob Edwards is early in his career and is most known for leading Forest Green Rovers to the League Two title last term. On top of that, a fair bit of the Watford team is of a Championship standard and isn’t anything too flashy. The attacking trio is a complete contradiction, they are far too good for this league.
Fabrizio Romano discussed the long-term interest from Liverpool which has been widely reported. “Liverpool have followed him for years but have never made any proposals, Klopp’s focus is on other deals.” Meanwhile, “Watford will only sell him for an important proposal”.
They are willing to let the Senegal forward go for the right price. If he does remain in place though, his side will be favoured by many to gain promotion.

Which Watford Forward Will be Shown the Door?
Watford forward Ismaila Sarr is the focus here, but it could be one of his teammates that move on instead. Joao Pedro and Emmanuel Dennis have themselves shown signs of brilliance across these two opening games. The latter was wanted by many, and still is.
Brazilian Pedro is maybe the most settled of the triumvirate which, at 20, makes sense, with his whole career ahead of him. Sarr wasn’t particularly involved in the win over Sheffield United last weekend. It was a Pedro header that made the difference against the Blades, but the Senegalese international came up trumps at the Hawthorns. West Bromwich Albion dominated that game but the Hornets earned a point thanks to the Liverpool target scoring from inside his own half.
In Romano’s words, “What a goal from Ismaila Sarr last night as he reminded us all of his superb talent.” It wasn’t the easiest of seasons for him last time out but before that, in the covid years, the Watford forward was on fire in the Premier League. It remains to be seen where his future lies.
