Manchester United are now in direct contact with Adrien Rabiot over a possible summer move, reports Fabrizio Romano. The Red Devils are desperately seeking a new midfielder after a disastrous start to the Premier League season with a loss to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Erik ten Hag Also Speaking With Rabiot’s Camp
The Red Devils have already reportedly agreed a transfer fee in principle with Juventus for the 27-year-old midfielder. The Serie A club have no problem in letting him go as they had planned to sell him anyways, Romano also adds.
United are now in the process of negotiating with Rabiot and his controversial mother/agent Veronique over his contract and wages, which could be more than the £175,000 a week he receives at Juventus. Moreover, Erik ten Hag is also involved in getting the deal over the line as he is also directly talking to the French midfielder to convince him to join his project at Old Trafford.

With Frenkie de Jong now looking likely to join Chelsea, the Manchester giants have been forced to look into other options. They feel that the 27-year-old can be a solid addition to the team and add some much-needed depth to the squad for this season as well.
Manchester United’s Summer Transfer Business So Far
The Red Devils have had a relatively average transfer window so far under Ten Hag. They roped in Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord before adding Christian Eriksen to their ranks as an impressive free signing.
United’s biggest signing so far in the summer is that of Lisandro Martinez from Ajax for a £46 million transfer fee along with £8.4 million in potential add-ons in the deal as well. However, the Red Devils are clearly in need of more new faces, as proven in their dismal loss on the opening day defeat.

The Red Devils offloaded six first-team players in the summer, including midfielders Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic as well as Jesse Lingard. That’s why United are pushing for Rabiot, who has earned a controversial reputation in recent years for his notorious mother – who made the news last year after reportedly getting into a verbal scuffle with Pogba and Kylian Mbappe’s family following France’s elimination from Euro 2020.
