Fifa World Cup Position Hanging in the Balance for Henderson
The fact of getting regular playing itself time is not just the only motive for Henderson to join Forest, with the effects of frequent appearances also of interest to the United keeper. He realizes that there is very little time for him to prove himself worthy to Gareth Southgate of including him in the England squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in November.
There is still some uncertainty around the goalkeeper position for the Three Lions as no English keeper has been consistent enough to book a permanent spot in the team. Jordan Pickford is error-prone, Aaron Ramsdale conceded four goals to Hungary and Nick Pope hasn’t yet proven reliable.

The 25-year-old could get a wildcard entry into the England squad if able to impress in the early part of the Premier League season with Forest. The 25-year-old goalkeeper is known for his strong character and confidence levels alongside his impressive work in between the sticks.
A few years ago, Henderson was praised for his ‘incredible development‘ by ex-United manager Jose Mourinho. The reason why the 25-year-old isn’t opting for a permanent exit out of Old Trafford is that he still believes himself to be the successor to David de Gea at the Theatre of Dreams. If he can have an inspired season at the City Ground and outperform De Gea in the Premier League next season, that dream could soon turn into reality.
