Manchester United in Discussions Over Star Who Has “Very Good Chance” of Making Move

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is currently set to make the move to the newly-promoted side Nottingham Forest, with Erik ten Hag‘s side in discussions with the Reds over the 25-year-old. News broke recently that Forest had opened talks for the player, but a new report by Fabrizio Romano clarifies that while no deal is done, there is a good chance Henderson makes the switch.

Romano’s latest report states: “There’s still nothing signed but Dean Henderson loan move to Nottingham Forest has “very good chances” to happen. Sources are really confident and Man United would accept buy option clause for £20m …Exclusive story confirmed, talks in progress”

Newly promoted Forst are aiming to strengthen in this off-season in a bid to avoid instant relegation back to the Championship. Henderson is no stranger to this scenario after spending the 2019/20 season on loan at Sheffield United.

Henderson was labelled as a hero throughout the said campaign for his performances in goal as the club achieved a miraculous top-half finish. In fact, in their first Premier League season without the English goalkeeper, The Blades finished rock bottom of the table concerning 63 goals that year, compared to just 39 with Henderson between the posts.

Dean Henderson Has High Aspirations

Despite impressing at Shrewsbury Town and with the Blades on loan, Henderson has never come close to being the number one goalkeeper at Manchester United. Unfortunately for the 25-year-old, he has to compete with David de Gea. Safe to say, the world-class Spaniard isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

If the Manchester United youth product has any ambitions of improving on his singular cap for England then he will need first-team football. A switch from the red of Manchester to the red of Nottingham will see him get the opportunity to permanently solidify himself as the number one goalkeeper of a Premier League side, barring relegation of course.
